German Skiing Association and the Würth Group continue their successful partnership that had begun four years ago. In 2002, the Würth Group had become sponsor of the DSV ski jumpers. In 2004, the cooperation was extended to the fields of “biathlon”, “cross-country skiing” and “Nordic combination”.
The great attractiveness of the DSV national teams and resulting enormous medial effect in Germany and abroad were the decisive factors for the early extension of the contract of the two partners. “We are pleased about the extension of the contract with the Würth Group. This shows that our concept of the discipline-overlapping sponsoring guarantees a great attractiveness” says DSV marketing director Thomas Mayr.
For Dieter Münch, head of the Department Marketing/Advertisement of the Würth Group, the form of the cooperation with German Skiing Association is no end in itself: “In addition to our affinity to skiing we see team sporting as a useful means to increase the degree of familiarity and emotionality of our brand. The partnership with German Skiing Association is consequently a first-class sales support for the Würth Group.
Marketing director Mayr declares at the signing of the contract: "With Würth we will, until the year 2010, have a competent and motivated partner by our side that has been exercising sport sponsoring for over 20 years”.
As market leader in the trade with connecting and assembly technology such as screws, chemical products, tools or systems of fire protection the Würth Group generated a sales volume of EUR 6.9 billion in the business year 2005. The company has 367 market-active companies in 82 countries of the world with a total of 54,000 employees.
