In my eyes, Bob Dylan really is the “Einstein of music“ (Wolfgang Niedecken).
| Künzelsau/Hohenlohekreis. On Thursday, July 13, 2006, Wolfgang Niedecken, singer of the most successful German rock band "BAP", was staying at the representation of the Würth Group in Brussels. Wolfgang Niedecken read the first part of the autobiography “Chronicles” of his great role model Bob Dylan, who is one of the most influential music artists of the 20th century. Bob Dylan puts an end to all the myths and legends around his person and his work. Niedecken sang the songs that formed an entire generation live. This evening paid homage to one of the greatest rock musicians of our times. |

What Woody Guthrie (1912-1967) – one of the most successful US folk musicians – is to Bob Dylan, is Bob Dylan to Wolfgang Niedecken. The German singer explains: “To me, Bob Dylan was like a big bang. One day, the singer of our school band, where I played the bass, came with the lyrics of the song “Like a Rolling Stone” in his hands. From that moment on, everything changed. Without Bob Dylan, my life would have been different. I suppose I would never have become a musician.” |
“Wolfgang Niedecken reads and sings Bob Dylan” is an evening designed “for all friends of the American master and of good music”. The evening at the Würth representation in Brussels proved that without any doubt: numerous guests from the European Commission, the European Parliament and from the representative offices of the German business community attended the event.
The concert reading was part of the program of events at the Würth representation Brussels. Both the representation in Brussels and that in Berlin cultivate contacts to politicians, industrial federations, trade unions, foreign legations and cultural institutions. Concerts are as integral parts of the program as rounds of talk and discussion, conferences and receptions. |
